Corner View ~ self-portrait where I live
Even though I'm quite busy I'm participating today using old photos (that you may have already seen on the blog.....). This week's theme particularly suits me, as I'm in the midst of organising a big change in my life, involving where I live and also who I am!
Have an happy week everybody, and more corner view goodness here at Fuoriborgo!

Palermo by night
Last weekend P decided that I nedded a serious break, and organised to visit dear friends in Palermo.
We had a great time and the cure was completely successful!
On the first evening we went for a nice walk in central town, crossing la Vucciria and BallarĂ², and I took several pictures! No more words, and just the images.....
O, well, I'll post some more tomorrow!

more knitting
Sometimes ago I finished a beautiful shawl, Taygete by Romi Hill, a very talented designer that publish great shawls patterns.
It took a bit of time, but came out beautiful and really hugs (more than 2 m of length!)
Moreover it is stripey! And lacey!
What else can a girl ask for?
I gave it to a dear friend in Palermo on saturday. Now be prepared for some more travelling posts soon!

Corner view - "in hindsight"
These last months have been hard on us.
Much thinking have been happening, much reconsidering about many things in life, and how I have come to be here the way I am today, what paths, what turns, which choices......
I don't live all this as a defeat or a bad thing, but rather as a difficult path to go through with determination, to learn to know and become myself.
And then, after all, in the end:
More corner view at Fuoriborgo where all is explained, and all participants can be found ;-)!

some hats
There has been quite a bit of knitting lately.....
There were some hats, all for a little fella I like a lot.
First we have Quynn by woolly wormhead, one of the great patterns from her book "Bambeanies".
I made it with some leftover Noro wool mixed with some white wool
and could not resist to add some stripes!
and added a little knot at the top!
I'm quite pleased with it, and G was very happy when he received it. His mum reports he wore it happily, and asks for a bigger version for herself!!!!
Second hat is again a ww model, but it is crocheted!
Isn't it cute? It looks like a little mushroom, and the pattern is obviously called Mushroom cap!
It's an easy pattern, and have stripes, and I had been waiting for its release for long, so when it came out I could not resist.
Made with unknown merino wool with a 4.5 crochet hook, I made it in three evenings!
And little G is happy again, and well equipped for next winter!

Cremona 2
After a great meal, I decided to climb the tower
503 steps
that led to a great view!
And while P was hanging downstairs
and meeting interesting peoples
I could not stop myself to shoot the great panorama from above
once I returned to the ground
we headed to the Sperlari shop, where there is a great choice of torrone and mostarda, two of the well known specialities from Cremona!
and the headed to the Pinacoteca
and admired lots of lovely paintings
and musical instruments!
What a great day!!!!!

Cremona 1
Lately life has been really hard, with ilness in the family and lots of problems at work.
I'm being particularly vulnerable, but I'm also so lucky to have around me some people that really support and help me a lot.
iven that I'm often exhausted, P has decided that I do need some days of recovery, and what is there better than some little trips and exploring interesting places? Or visiting far friends? Therefore be prepared to some travelling posts, and no woriies, knitting is also going strong!
Last saturday P and I headed off to Cremona, a great little city full of life and beautiful things to see and do.
We parked right besides this sign, which is a good memento to forget (for a while) the worries, and relax and enjoy. You can help others and yourself only if you have enough energy, after all!
Cremona is known for violin making, Stradivari worked here after all, and is disseminated with great shops. Sometimes people buying instruments try them and it is possible to stumble upon good music easily!
It was market day and we bought something....
admired other things....
passed by interesting places
met musicians
and ended up in the principal square!
the cathedral is very beautiful,
and the square was colorful with the flowers market!
The tower is impressive
people shopping were everywhere
and time for lunch came, so we headed to a great resturant and had a delicious meal
.... and that's quite photo heavy already, so the afternoon adventures will be in next post!
