where I live ~ procession

Sometime coincidences are really striking in life, whether in real or virtual spaces.
My friend Francesca, at Fuoriborgo, just posted another of her posts of the where I live series, to which I enjoyed to contribute, as they were so stimulating.
And guess what? Just last week, in Nizza M., we crossed a procession!

first there was the band,

then the priest, followed by the Madonna statue, brought around by a group of Alpini

Finally a lot of fesive people! It was interesting and colorful, but I could not follow it, what a pity!

where I live ~ pavements

Ah, pavements, they are so full of stories, inside or outside.

in my town they are so bumpy

walk about

they can send you important thoughts

remind you of strange, old stories of mornings spent chasing mice...

or  even speak about travels

where I live ~ windows

Oh, well, there isn't a great view from my windows

but the light is streaming through, and life is great!

And then things may look very different from the outside, and windows speak about many things

sometimes they even whisper to us our little secrets, and provide us a good reason for some reflections!

More windows from around the world, starting from here at Francesca's!

where I live ~ walls

Walls are interesting beings. They can protect you, or exclude you, and this duality makes for the fascination I have with them. They always tell stories, old and battered,

layered

complex

colorful

They can bear messages, recent or old, maybe memories, or grievances, or a sesne of belonging.

They can represent a white canvas ready for the future, they can old the promise of peeking onto something new and promising, or maybe terrifying.

Solid walls are knowledgable, whatever they protect or hide. You can touch and see, and feaal and lean on them, for comfort or joy or sorrow.

The really bad walls are instead those invisible walls that do very often drive our lives.....

where I live ~ roofs

I have a special fascination with roofs. I love them and the stories they tell!

IMG_1837

I especially love those tiles, with the reddish colors

And all those lichens and little plants you find on old roofs

I also adore wooden roofs from the inside, but I have no photo to show you that. So just bear with a glass one!

One of the dreams I have is to live in a house with a wooden roof. And to return to listen to rain while sheltering under a metallic roof!

Edited to add: more roofs here, at Francesca's, where a lot of nice ideas are born!
