corner view - fire

This week theme (more at Fuoriborgo) is fire!
I love fire, its warmth, and its hypnotic everchanging nature!

I could sit for hours contemplating the dancing flames!

I also associate the word fire to the kind of sky which is "on fire"

And to fireworks

but also to deep and passionate feelings!

where I live ~ pavements

Ah, pavements, they are so full of stories, inside or outside.

in my town they are so bumpy

walk about

365_038

they can send you important thoughts

365_061

remind you of strange, old stories of mornings spent chasing mice...

or  even speak about travels

corner view - in the sky

This week I'm not really original, as what I look in the sky is for .... clouds!

I adore them, the ever changing light when they pass by, their forms, that dramatic air during storms.
Enjoy, and more skies here, at Francesca's!

where I live ~ windows

Oh, well, there isn't a great view from my windows

DSC_0406

but the light is streaming through, and life is great!

365_122

And then things may look very different from the outside, and windows speak about many things

365_101

sometimes they even whisper to us our little secrets, and provide us a good reason for some reflections!

on the ground / at my feet - corner view

I'm always looking down: wether it is for my job or just for the pleasure to discover things, or even just to have a bird's eye view on my things!

where I live ~ walls

Walls are interesting beings. They can protect you, or exclude you, and this duality makes for the fascination I have with them. They always tell stories, old and battered,

DSC_0029

layered

DSC_0501

complex

DSC_0505

colorful

DSC_0502

They can bear messages, recent or old, maybe memories, or grievances, or a sesne of belonging.

DSC_0507

They can represent a white canvas ready for the future, they can old the promise of peeking onto something new and promising, or maybe terrifying.

DSC_0093

Solid walls are knowledgable, whatever they protect or hide. You can touch and see, and feaal and lean on them, for comfort or joy or sorrow.

The really bad walls are instead those invisible walls that do very often drive our lives.....

Corner View ~ mother

Dear mum,

we have had quite rough times lately, but we were able to sail through them thanks to your smile, strength, concreteness, optimism and humor.

THANK YOU!

PS And by the way, dear readers, there you get some knitting (of which I'm very proud) as well! It is a model called Mariager by Hanne Falkenberg, a great danish designer.

recent reads

365_132

Lately I have been so busy I didn't write here. But I managed to finish a great book, "il mio nome รจ rosso" ("My name is red?", that's the literal translation, and very often, I wonder why, titles are totally different in different languages!), by Orhan Pamuk. Added: oh, I just checked, the title is the same in English.

This book fascinated me, I really liked it a lot, maybe because it is clever! Besides the interesting plot, and notwithstanding (or maybe aso because) its slowness, it captured me because the author is just SO good in showing the different perspectives about the story.

It took me three or four chapters to get involved, but then I couldn't stop. This is a book I can recommend, though I suspect that it could be one of those book that you could hate at the first page, but this wasn't the case for me.

Oh, well, as you can see I was also knitting the day in which I took the photo, so be prepared to some knitting soon!

Corner View ~ hmmmm?

Ok, I confess: I don't like beer, it's really hmmmm to me! I keep trying it every year, and I have tasted innumerable brands, but I really do not like that taste.....

IMG_3787c

I do adore a good chinotto, though!
