Here it is my second hat!
As you can see, I'm quite happy with it. I improvised it, and used 5.5 mm needles, casting on 72 stitches.
It is beautiful outside
and inside
and fits me perfectly
Though I gave it away as soon as I finished it!

have you read any of the Yarn Harlot books? I got hold of three through the library in the US this last winter, and loved them - although they talk about knitting, they fit perfectly my passion for crochet. Your improvised hat reminds me of one chapter about ways to make hats with no pattern. happy knitting!
