where I live ~ walls

Walls are interesting beings. They can protect you, or exclude you, and this duality makes for the fascination I have with them. They always tell stories, old and battered,

They can bear messages, recent or old, maybe memories, or grievances, or a sesne of belonging.

They can represent a white canvas ready for the future, they can old the promise of peeking onto something new and promising, or maybe terrifying.

Solid walls are knowledgable, whatever they protect or hide. You can touch and see, and feaal and lean on them, for comfort or joy or sorrow.

The really bad walls are instead those invisible walls that do very often drive our lives.....

What beautiful walls Gis!! You must live somewhere very nice to have walls like that around you :-)

And I just read your 'About' page - I never realised you were a geologist!! What a fascinating area that must be to work in.

Such character in those walls! I esp. like the photo with the wall made up of brick, stone, and textured block.

And yes, those invisible walls can be quite daunting.

I never thought that humble things like walls, roofs and all the rest could inspire people to take gorgeous photos and write such beautiful and profound thoughts as you did here. I actually read this earlier on this morning, and was hoping to find just the perfect words (I didnt) 't tell you how much I loved your post and reflection!
